Description

This is a teaching unit for the novel Love, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. This unit contains ready-made handouts to accompany this book. The activities and lessons are based on the dates of Stargirl’s letters.
This unit could be used as an independent novel unit for your students to complete on their own or in small groups. If you should choose to do this, a reading requirement chart is provided to allow you to set up a schedule for the reading of the novel.

These handouts will require students to analyze the author’s craft and literary elements such as poetry elements, conflict, allusion, and irony. An informational text is even included for analysis. There are three tests, comprehension questions, as well as writing assignments (rubrics included) and post reading activities.

Take a look at the table of contents below to see the focus of each section. Everything is ready for you to teach, and the best part is that once you purchase this unit, you can reuse it every year!
