ELA Core Plans

Our names are Tammy and Shannon. We are two middle school language arts teachers in South Carolina. Tammy has been teaching for twenty-eight years. She has taught first grade, fourth grade, special education, eighth grade social studies, and seventh grade language arts. Shannon has been teaching for twenty-three years and has taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade language arts as well as English I. We currently teach seventh grade language arts and work together to plan for our students. We continually develop resources for our own classrooms.

We believe that all students need to be engaged when learning and that learning should be fun! We tackle Common Core standards head on and are always looking for a fresh approach to teach ELA in the middle!

Teacher of the Year; National Board Certification; Recipients of Multiple Grants

Tammy earned her MEd in education, and Shannon earned her MAT in English. We have both earned national board certification.

We love teaching ELA and creating fun, standards-based materials to use in our classrooms.
